Originally from Puerto Rico, NAAN now resides in the Midwest. Fluent in Spanish and English, she graduated from Iowa State University in 2011 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics with Russian Studies and a Bachelor’s in German. As of 2018, she also now holds a Master’s in Graphic Design from the same university and futzes around with the pained fruits of it for comics. Who's gonna stop her, the design police?
She can usually be seen working on Legendary Beings Ara & Celi, among other works. In April of 2019, she founded the Aradia Collective for Magical Girl Comics, boasting around 23 members from all over the world. From October to November of the same year, she was chosen to be the residence artist for Oulu Comics Center in Oulu, Finland, exhibiting her original traditionally-done comic pages and other artwork. She also managed to create a new comic while there during 24 Hour Comic Day.
Likes Dadaism, mythology/religion readings, linguistics, decorative fonts, 80s new wave, the jpop band globe, the Alphaville band and Falco of Austria. Believer in the Mister Ed Philosophy.
